Flexible Flue Liner Installation

Take notice of the direction arrows and UP marking on the seam of the liner. It is important that the liner should be installed so that the arrows point up the chimney. This will allow any condensation to drain downwards over the internal joint.

  1. Attach a nose cone with a draw rope to what will be the bottom end of the liner.
  2. Installation is a job for 2 people.
  3. If the liner is to be insulated with the blanket, fix this to the first section.
  4. 1st installer drops the draw rope down the flue.
  5. 2nd installer takes the rope at the bottom of the chimney and carefully pulls the liner downwards whilst..
  6. The 1st installer guides the liner over the top of the chimney and into the flue, taking care to avoid letting the liner bend too sharply or scrape over any sharp corners.
  7. Once the liner is pulled all the way through the flue, connect the base of the liner to the appropriate adaptor using stainless steel self tapping screws and seal with fire cement.
  8. If granular insulation is to be use, close the bottom of the flue and pour the insulation into the flue from the first of any openings making sure that the liner is held centrally in the void and allowing the insulation to pour all the way round.
  9. Continue this process to the top of the chimney making sure that the void is filled with insulation to the top.
  10. Fit the closure plate and top clamp.
  11. Flaunch with a suitable mortar or fit a suitable chimnen pot.
